Is it just me?...

medium_dsc00278.jpg

... or is Comic Sans the ugliest font ever to be invented?  On Sunday I was in Borders bookshop (actually I was having a coffee in the Starbucks on the 3rd floor).  When they threw us out of the coffee sit-downy bit - due to closing - I stumbled upon the children's book section and to much dismay, ALL the titles of the sections were done in Comic Sans.  I found it quite awful.  I think Comic Sans is one of the biggest design faults this century.  There is even a website dedicated to its demise HERE. I have worked in companies where they started doing everything in Comic Sans, even memos!  Maybe that's why I dislike it so much.  The fact that its been shoved in my face over the last 5 or 6 years.  Or maybe I'm just a moany whinger who hasn't got better things to do with my time...erm...I'm sure I had a paperclip to unfold...somewhere....

ghe ghe...it's crazy i think...i mean...who would care a simple font...anyway...i can partially agree with u as i found some some similarities...i'm sick of singing happy day (no insulting for edwin howkins)...i've been singing this song for 4 years and it's still in the repertoire of my choir...maybe i shoud simulate a sore throat when it comes to sing it once more :) greetings

From a teacher's point of view .... Comic Sans is a clear san serif font which is very readable for kids. Sensible 'a's and 'g's. I use it a lot. I actually like it too.

I do agree with you there Liz. And point taken, being in the kids section of the bookshop I suppose it was appropriate. But I think I must have just seen too much of this font over the years and therefore do not care much for it. I do dee what you're saying about sensible a's and g's. Ok ok, so maybe I came across a little strong...I suppose the font has its good uses
