In the Midst of the Gorillaz
Yeah I know its been a couple of weeks since my last post but I can tell you that it has been an extremely busy two weeks! Didn't get any time to sit like this at my computer and post on my blog (as much as I wanted to).
Anyway, let me fill you in on the new news. I have been hired as a backing vocalist for The Gorillaz for a 5-date stint in Manchester from 1st-5th November. We have been rehearsing for a few days now, we have two more to go and then we go up to Manchester on Sunday for a week. We will be performing the whole of the above album "Demon Days" and a few tracks from the first album. Its great to be working with such amazing musicians. (For those of you who don't know, Gorillaz was formed by Damon Albarn from Blur and he is fronting this show).
I also have some of my own solo performances coming up next month too in a few churches and this month's Lime Lounge is tomorrow. Lime Lounge is an event for Gospel artists to showcase their music which we put on monthly. I am the host and I also perform a few songs. I'll try and report on this when its happened after tomorrow.

More gigs!
Hello just a quickie!
I seem to be getting so many gigs these days! Its great fun. I just got back from doing one up in Stanmore which is in north-west London (actually just outside London in Middlesex). It was a very easy gig, singing in a bar to backing tracks for two 45min sets with my friend Marlon. He does it regularly and he asked me to join him on this one. It was great fun but I'm not used to singing with backing tracks and so I found it quite challenging. It was so hard not to try and turn around to my "band" and say "Chorus again!" or "Bridge!". But all in all a good evening and the 8 people in the bar seemed to really enjoy it too.
I have also been asked to be on the backing vocal team for the Gorillaz (Damon Albarn from Blur's cartoony type group). We are going to be playing Manchester from 1-5 November and then from there they are going to give us more dates. Should be quite exciting. I will report more on that when I have some pictures. Sorry this blog is a bit boring because I don't have any pictures with it. I normally would. But I forgot to take some tonight. Never mind I'm sure you'll live.
I've finished my cup of tea and Hob Nobs so its off to bed for me. Busy day tomorrow - another gig in the evening, this time singing at an engagement party and then on Saturday I'm singing at a wedding!

New Offices
As promised here are the photos of our new offices

Pic 1) The front of the building @ 85 Bounces Road, Edmonton, London N9 8LD
Pic 2&3) Ground Floor - Phoenix Academy which is our secondary school which teaches ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) Curriculum. Each student gets their own "office" with computer. In Pic 2 you can see the windows but the metal shutters are down as it was the end of the day. Behind those shutters is the school yard.
Pic 4) 1st Floor Conference Room
Pic 5) The main office on the 1st floor which is where I work. The screen which you can see the back of in the foreground is mine. That's where I sit folks.
Pic 6) This is the office which is to the right of where I am taking the picture from in Pic 5.
We have now been working here since May and are only really just getting settled. The whole computer network took quite a while for people to get used to but it is just about running smoothly. In my next post, I'll explain about what goes on in these offices, because its quite complex and I'm a little tired, and me and a couple of the office workers are going to the pub for some food...mmmmmm.....foooooood.

Is it just me?...
... or is Comic Sans the ugliest font ever to be invented? On Sunday I was in Borders bookshop (actually I was having a coffee in the Starbucks on the 3rd floor). When they threw us out of the coffee sit-downy bit - due to closing - I stumbled upon the children's book section and to much dismay, ALL the titles of the sections were done in Comic Sans. I found it quite awful. I think Comic Sans is one of the biggest design faults this century. There is even a website dedicated to its demise HERE. I have worked in companies where they started doing everything in Comic Sans, even memos! Maybe that's why I dislike it so much. The fact that its been shoved in my face over the last 5 or 6 years. Or maybe I'm just a moany whinger who hasn't got better things to do with my time...erm...I'm sure I had a paperclip to unfold...somewhere....

Quick, coz its late
I just got in from the Breaking Forth Conference which is put on by Bethesda Ministries over this weekend. Guests include Tonex (a singer), Dorinda Clark-Cole (another singer), Pastor Marvin Winans, Pastor Jackie McCullough to name a few. Saw Tonex sing tonight - I have been a fan of his for a few years now. Also, Jackie McCullough preached a most awesome word. So I feel very empowered. Just thought I would share this with you. Have to go bed now as I am up at 5:30. I am singing on CDUK with Liberty X tomorrow morning. Hope you catch it.
