&lt;div style=&quot;text-align: center&quot;&gt;&lt;a target=&quot;_blank&quot; href=&quot;http://aaronvocals.blogspirit.com/images/medium_HSBC_HQ.jpg&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://aaronvocals.blogspirit.com/images/thumb_HSBC_HQ.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;medium_HSBC_HQ.jpg&quot; style=&quot;margin: 0.7em 0px; border-width: 0px&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;I know I said I would blog about my first day, but I have been so hectically busy since starting that I haven't had time to blog about anything!&amp;nbsp; &quot;What's new?&quot; I hear you say!&amp;nbsp; Well better late than never.&amp;nbsp; I have now been at HSBC for almost 3 months.&amp;nbsp; This is a picture of the building I work in.&amp;nbsp; Its the only building in Canary Wharf which is occupied 100% by one company.&amp;nbsp; Its rather tall, about 42 floors I think.&amp;nbsp; I work on the 30th floor - on a sunny day there are some great views of London.&amp;nbsp; There is a full gym on the 5th floor which is better than most big gyms in London!&amp;nbsp; They also have a subsidised canteen where the food is really nice, and so much choice.&amp;nbsp; I was given a tour of the building on my induction day.&amp;nbsp; We started by watching a health and safety video and after about 5 minutes, the projector blew-up!&amp;nbsp; HEALTH &amp;amp; SAFETY????&amp;nbsp; We all had a good laugh about that but that poor guy doing the presentation was slightly embarrassed to say the least.&amp;nbsp; We then went on the tour.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Its all going well and I'm all settled in now, joining in the office banter etc.&amp;nbsp; My department is great to work in and I'm finding my role is very manageable.&amp;nbsp; I'm working as PA to about 3 Directors and their teams.&amp;nbsp; Canary Wharf is strange because its like a little City (or Country if you like) in itself.&amp;nbsp; Its very self-contained and you have everything there, and there's always more shops opening.&amp;nbsp; But there are people who live just across the road from their work!&amp;nbsp; Yes, must be a dream to just walk across to work but frankly I would hate&amp;nbsp;it, because your life would just become all about work!&amp;nbsp; I think that's a sad thing.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;div style=&quot;text-align: center&quot;&gt;&lt;img style=&quot;border-top-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin: 0.7em 0px; border-right-width: 0px&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; src=&quot;http://aaronvocals.blogspirit.com/images/medium_logo.2.gif&quot; /&gt;&lt;/div&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;After much deliberation I have decided to head back to the world of 9-5 work for the time-being.&amp;nbsp; I contacted a few temping agencies and had a really good response from most.&amp;nbsp; For those of you that don't know, I'm qualified as a PA which is a great asset to have to fall back on when the world of music is not generating much of a steady income.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;After a couple of unsuccessful interviews, one agency phoned me about a position at the HSBC Headquarters in Canary Wharf (the financial district in London).&amp;nbsp; They sent me for an interview which went really well.&amp;nbsp; I was confident and the agency phoned me the next day and said that&amp;nbsp;HSBC were very impressed with me and would like to offer me the position.&amp;nbsp; Its an ongoing temp position which means I'm paid by the hour, but it may turn into a permanent position in the future.&amp;nbsp; I will be PA to 4 Managers (as far as I know) and I start this Wednesday.&amp;nbsp; I will no doubt post about my first day so keep watching.&lt;/p&gt;
